ADHD Evaluation - Standard

Comprehensive Adult ADHD Assessment

If you've struggled with focus, organization, follow-through, or time management — but you're not sure if it's ADHD or just how you're wired — an ADHD evaluation can give you answers.

At Serenity Space, we offer comprehensive ADHD evaluations designed to provide diagnostic clarity. We assess attention, executive functioning, impulse control, and how ADHD patterns show up in your daily life. Whether you're seeking a diagnosis for the first time or need updated assessment for medication management, we're here to help.

What is an ADHD Evaluation?

An ADHD evaluation is a comprehensive psychological assessment that determines whether you meet criteria for ADHD and identifies how it affects you specifically. The evaluation includes:

  • Clinical interview — Detailed history of symptoms, onset, and impact

  • Standardized testing — Evidence-based measures to objectively assess attention, executive function, and impulsivity

  • Behavioral observation — How ADHD patterns show up in conversation and task-based activities

  • Written report — Diagnostic findings and practical recommendations

An ADHD evaluation is not ongoing therapy. It's a one-time comprehensive assessment.

Who This Is For

This evaluation is ideal if you:

  • Suspect you have ADHD but haven't been formally assessed

  • Were diagnosed years ago and need updated evaluation for medication adjustment

  • Are struggling with focus, organization, follow-through, or impulse control

  • Want to understand whether ADHD is behind your patterns (vs. anxiety, depression, or other factors)

  • Need clinical documentation for school, work accommodations, or insurance

Standard vs. Comprehensive

We offer two levels of ADHD evaluation:

Standard ADHD Evaluation ($300)

Duration: 75 minutes
Includes:

  • Clinical interview focused on ADHD symptoms and history

  • 1–2 standardized attention/executive function measures

  • Behavioral observation

  • Written diagnostic report with recommendations

  • Good for: First-time diagnosis, general clarity on ADHD vs. other factors

Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation ($400)

Duration: 90 minutes
Includes:

  • Detailed clinical interview (family history, developmental history, medical history)

  • Multiple standardized measures (attention, executive function, impulse control, mood screening)

  • Behavioral observation and cognitive screening

  • Detailed written report with diagnostic findings and personalized recommendations

  • Differential diagnosis (ruling out anxiety, depression, learning disorders, etc.)

  • Good for: Complex presentations, need for detailed documentation, medication management clarification

What to Expect

The Process

1. Pre-Evaluation Intake You'll fill out a brief questionnaire about your symptoms, medical history, and what you need the evaluation for.

2. Clinical Interview (45–60 minutes) We'll discuss:

  • Your ADHD symptoms and when they started

  • How ADHD shows up in your work, relationships, school, and daily life

  • Your medical and medication history

  • Family history of ADHD or other conditions

  • What's been tried before (medication, therapy, strategies)

3. Standardized Testing (15–30 minutes) You'll complete objective measures that assess attention, executive function, and impulse control. These are validated tests used by psychologists nationwide.

4. Written Report (within 3–5 business days) You'll receive a comprehensive report that includes:

  • Diagnostic findings

  • Summary of test results

  • How ADHD affects your specific functioning

  • Recommendations for treatment (therapy, medication, coaching, accommodations)

  • Report suitable for sharing with doctors, schools, or employers

Cost & Timeline

Standard ADHD Evaluation (75 minutes): $300
Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation (90 minutes): $400

Turnaround Time: 3–5 business days for completed report

These are self-pay services. We do not bill insurance for evaluations, but you may be able to submit the report to your insurance for reimbursement (check with your carrier).

What Happens After?

Once you have your diagnosis:

If ADHD is confirmed:

  • Discuss medication management with your primary care doctor or psychiatrist

  • Consider therapy (especially DBT or CBT for executive function and emotional regulation)

  • Explore workplace accommodations or school support services

  • Implement organizational and time-management strategies

If ADHD is not confirmed:

  • We may identify other factors (anxiety, depression, sleep issues, learning differences)

  • We can recommend appropriate treatment for what we find

  • You'll have clarity on what's actually going on — which is valuable

We're happy to discuss therapy or coaching after your evaluation if that feels right for you.

Common Questions

Q: How long does the whole process take?
A: The evaluation itself is 75–90 minutes. You'll get your written report within 3–5 business days.

Q: Will I get a diagnosis?
A: Yes. If you meet criteria for ADHD, we'll document that in your report. If you don't meet criteria, we'll discuss what we found instead.

Q: Can I bring someone with me?
A: Generally, we recommend coming alone so you can speak freely. If you have accessibility needs, we can discuss arrangements.

Q: What should I bring?
A: Bring any previous psychological evaluations, school records (if applicable), medical records, or medication history you have. These help us understand your complete picture.

Q: Can I use this for school accommodations?
A: Yes. Our evaluation report can be submitted to your school's disability services office to request testing accommodations, reduced course load, or other supports.

Q: What about medication?
A: We provide evaluation and diagnostic clarity, but we don't prescribe medication. Your primary care doctor or a psychiatrist can discuss medication options based on our findings.

Q: I've been diagnosed before. Do I need another evaluation?
A: If you were diagnosed years ago, an updated evaluation can be useful for medication adjustment or clarification. We can discuss what would be most helpful in a brief phone call.
